Last Sunday, January 23rd many artists, socialite, and supporters came out to the DMV Helps Haiti 1 Year Anniversary Community Initiative Benefit Concert which took place at the Warehouse Loft in Washington, DC.
Organized by Candice Nicole of Candice Nicole Public Relations and Yodit Gebreyes of Talk of DC, the DMV Helps Haiti Anniversary featured knockout performances from a new breed of DMV artists including Alison Carney, DeAngelo Redman, Harmony Muzik, Bear Witnez, Greenspan, Amber Mimz, Kinpen Slim, Ra The MC, Fat Trel, and a few others. With DJ QuickSilva spinning, many gathered around the swank loft in support of the charitable cause; sharing great talent, drinks, and food donated by Lance London of restaurant, Carolina Kitchen. Similar to last year’s format, celebrity artist Demont Peekaso captured the essence of the evening through art, with a signature piece he created as artists performed on stage. All of the proceeds of the event went to Partners In Health—an organization who has been involved in Haiti’s recovery since the natural disaster and was the first to launch a neonatal intensive care unit in Central Haiti. The event was another huge success put together by the team and we are looking forward to next year’s anniversary.
