Writer/Director Akua Agyemang Presents “I Need All 3″

Every man would like to believe that when his woman gazes deep into his eyes she is thinking, ‘he is perfect…the only one for me,’ but the fact is—she probably isn’t thinking that. Some women prefer to keep their options open and have their pick between two men—or if they’re like Agye—three men. Agye is the lead character of “I Need All 3”—a new independent TV series about an aspiring model/actress who gets caught in a steamy love triangle. The alluring series, which is based in NYC, was written and directed by Ghana-born, Charlotte-raised CEO/Founder of Starr Studded Entertainment, Akua Agyemang.

Like most women, Akua has batted her eyes at more than a few Mr. Wrongs so when she began writing the script for her racy new series she already had years of research on standby, including relationship-gone-wrong testimonies from friends and family.

“I have always been a person that others come to to talk about their relationship issues; why they chose one person or the other. And I myself have had a long, complex journey of relationships to learn what I could deal with and what I couldn’t deal with,” Akua said. “I felt like it would be a great show to put out there to answer a lot of questions ahead of time so that they [women] don’t waste time and also for men to understand how they present themselves can effect how we move forward or decide to pass.”

With a handpicked cast of rising actors and a dynamic production team, Akua was able to see her script go from paper to production in just six weeks. The relatable and intriguing plot has all the makings of a must-watch. Lead character, Agye, artfully maneuvers between three men—the bad boy, the professional, and the Renaissance man—never fully committing to any of them yet hoping to uncover her perfect match. “She [Agye] is really just trying to find out what works for her and what doesn’t and it is by happenstance that the relationships overlap,” Akua said about the main character. She continues, “I hate the fact that there is such a double standard about men being able to do things that women are not. Not that we are in competition, but just as they go through different relationships to see what works for them women also do too…Being that women feel that we have a more limited amount of time to find the right guy, we kind of need to have different avenues available to us to maximize that time.”

Via Starr Studded Entertainment, a production company created to provide local talent a platform to showcase their abilities, Akua has been able to give a voice to rising talent such as the actors of “I Need All 3” (Osas Ighodaro, Gabriel Nunoo, Chandon Hamilton, and Resk’que). Currently, Akua is applying her directorial dexterity to a number of projects, including a film-series and reality show, but she expressed that she is most passionate about this series describing it as an “ordained” project.

The promo video for the series has already generated quite a buzz on the web and has been stamped a “worthy watch” amongst many. Since its release on May 24, Akua has been pitching “I Need All 3” to major networks like VH1, MTV, and TVOne with hopes that it will get picked up.

But the real question is…who will Ayge end up with? Will it be Tito, Pierre, or Jason. Stay tuned to find out!
